Schoolmates Share the Stage Under the Sea

What do a bossy crab and a frightened fish have in common? They are roles played by two friendly and fearless students from Robert Little Public School in Acton.

Brynn Swenarchuk and Olivia Doyle are set to impress audiences this May as Sebastian and Flounder in The Little Mermaid Jr. by Globe Productions Youth Company. The ten year olds are stepping into the spotlight for the first time having played in the Junior Ensemble for past Globe performances.

Father and son appear on stage together for the first time

David Brown and his son Brody are not new to Globe Productions. As a member of Globe Youth Productions, Brody (now 11) started at the age of 8 with Annie, and starred in Aladdin (2013) and The Wizard of Oz (2014). He also starred in Globe's adult shows - The Music Man and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Dave didn’t get his start in musical theatre quite that early. His first show was All Shook Up in 2013 (which won THEA for the Best Musical Production) and was actively involved in the Wizard of Oz as an Assistant Stage Manager (ASM).

Cabaret is the first time Dave and Brody will appear on the stage together. Dave plays Victor, one of the Kit Kat boys and Brody plays a young German boy singing “Tomorrow Belongs to Me”. We wanted to know how excited they are about it.

Cabaret, The musical. Interview with Danny Harvey and Cheyenne Stodolny

Sitting in the director’s chair (actually, standing most of the time) is Danny Harvey. On the stage, playing the sexy Sally Bowles is his sister Cheyenne Harvey Stodolny. Neither of them is new to musical theatre or Globe. Danny is a director at Brampton’s Rose theatre and the last show he did with Globe was Jesus Christ Superstar in 2010. Cheyenne played Natalie in last year’s All Shook Up (won us THEA for the best musical production). We ask them about Cabaret and working together.
