Your assistance is urgently needed to support “The Old Armoury” restoration project!

“The Old Armoury” was saved from the wrecking ball by Georgetown Globe Productions. We are a not-for-profit community group of volunteers with a long history of presenting quality musical theatre in Halton Hills. Globe’s membership is comprised of individual and family active members, associate members, patron-active members, patrons and honorary life members. Over 300 volunteers are involved with Globe on a yearly basis, including 100 youth and their families.

“The Old Armoury” is one of the most well known and oldest buildings in Georgetown. It was built around the time of confederation in 1866 as a drill hall for the local militia. Veterans of both World Wars passed through “The Old Armoury” doors, including many of the names honoured at Remembrance Park. “The Old Armoury” was home to “C” Company of the Lorne Scots until they relocated in 1997.
Georgetown Globe Productions is passionate to preserve “The Old Armoury” as an important part of our history. Through the co-operation of The Town of Halton Hills, Globe has begun to transform “The Old Armoury” into a much needed permanent home for our growing organization and newly formed Youth Company.

To date, Globe has committed all of our resources and an Ontario Trillium Fund Grant to stabilize the structure, add a new steel roof, restore the original interior timbers and barn boards, and add a barrier free entrance and washrooms...but there is still more work to be done!
In order to complete our vision of making this grand old lady a vibrant part of our community and a “place to go” for arts, culture and heritage in Halton Hills, we need your support! Please help Globe to preserve “The Old Armoury”!
